- Extensive flooding occurred at the end of October 2007 in Tabasco and Chiapas provinces in southern Mexico. A MapAction team deployed on 11 November to assist the UN and aother relief agencies in coordinating the response.

affected over 260,000, according to the Government. Thousands of homes
have been destroyed and the flooding has also caused major bridges to
collapse and destroyed crops.

- MapAction deployed a team to north-east Kenya in December 2006. The produced situation maps and other information products in support of the UN, Red Cross and other relief agencies.

Indonesia, June 2006

- A 6.3-magnitude earthquake caused heavy casualties near Yogjakarta in Java in May 2006. Two MapAction team members deployed in support of UN-OCHA. In addition to the earthquake response they also produced evacuation maps for the anticipated eruption of the Mount Merapi volcano.

- Severe river flooding in Suriname affected tens of thousands in remote areas of the interior. A MapAction team deployed to Suriname and supported national and international response.

Pakistan, October 2005

- On 8th October 2005 a 7.6-magnitude earthquake in Kashmir caused devastation over a wide area and killed around 80,000 people. A MapAction team deployed to the region within 48 hours and provided a rapid mapping service, prior to the establishment of a Humanitarian Information Centre by UN OCHA.

- MapAction's first emergency deployment was to Sri Lanka in December 2004, in response to the catastrophic Indian Ocean tsunami. Task124-IDP901-Task124-IDP906 are a complete series of maps for 14 January 05. There are sets of these maps for 2nd to 14 January 05 available.
