In October 2007, MapAction completed its first 50 field and training missions. Prince Harry, the charity's Royal Patron, attended a reception and presentation to mark this milestone. About 140 guests and members of MapAction met at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in central London. (Picture: MapAction)
Guests were given a presentation on the progress made by MapAction since becoming operational in 2003. One of the guests was Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, where MapAction conducted its first ever field mapping mission. This connection was particularly of interest to Prince Harry: the charity set up by both princes in Lesotho, named Sentebale ("Forget me not"), has since been assisted by MapAction in compiling a mappable database of development organisations operating in the country (see: www.letsema.org).
