Benin Flooding, July 2009

Deployment Details

Flooding in southern Benin has affected, according to early reports, 20,000 or more people in 43 communities. The government has requested international assistance and a UN Disaster Assessment and Coordination (UNDAC) teamis being mobilised to the scene. The UN requested a MapAction team to deploy in support, and two emergency mapping volunteers are preparing to fly out from the UK over the weekend of 11/12 July.
