Philippines, November 2013

Deployment Details

A category 5 ‘super’ typhoon Haiyan (known locally as Yolanda) made landfall on Friday 8th November with windspeeds  of over 200 miles an hour. MapAction deployed a team to the Philippines immediately and is currently supporting humanitarian operations in the field at Tacloban in the worst-hit area.

Maps catalogued on MapAction's website here are in some cases aggregated as complete series, so may not be suitable for users on limited bandwidth.

For this deployment the primary platform for MapAction maps is the Humanitarian Response Philippines portal. We recommend you start there for a cluster or hub orientated view of the products; and to download individual map sheets for specific locations.
